With so many different choices of racquetballs, how do you choose which one to use?
Different racquetball governing bodies get contract with racquetball ball manufacturers to promote their line of racquetballs.
For example, in the USA, many state use Penn, so either the Blue Pro Penn or the Pro Penn Greens are the racquetball balls commonly used in a local sanctioned event. The International Racquetball Federation also uses the same racquetballs at their sanctioned world events.
The International Pro Racquetball Tour (IRT) currently uses the Purple Penn HD for their official racquetball ball and the pro racquetball rules require that all pro divisions use them. Many times when an event has a pro division, all the divisions in the racquetball tournament will use the purple racquetballs. Read racquetball books written by the pros and watch racquetball videos of pro matches to take your game to the next level.
The World Outdoor Racquetball (WOR) exclusively uses the Red Ektelon Fireballs, which are made to be a little faster than any of the other balls out there. When you first play with the red racquetball balls, you will think wow these are fast, and they are fun to play with in indoor racquetball too. If you have a power game and a hard drive serve, you will love the red racquetballs as they will go along with your game-style.
In direct contrast, the Black Classic Racquetball Ball is made to be a slow ball on the racquetball courts. The Senior events use these racquetballs to encourage longer rallies and slightly slower play.
