Racquetball gloves are an essential part of a player’s racquetball gear, and if you are the type of person who sweats a lot, you are going to need a lot of them.
Racquetball gloves will last a lot longer if you have several of them and change them out before they start getting really soaked. Trying to play with wet racquetball gear will result in the racquet slipping in your hand during play and you will lose control of the ball. With a good grip and a good racquetball glove, you will be in more control when you hit the ball. Once your racquetball gloves get really wet, the salt from your hands tend to ruin the glove when it dries. Hang your racquetball gloves on the outside of your racquetball gear when you are finished playing to allow them to dry.
Of all the racquetball gear you can purchase, you will need more racquetball gloves than anything. Racquetball tournament players often have 10 or more gloves strapped to the outside of their racquetball bags.
There are many varieties of racquetball gloves. They come in different textures and are made of different materials. Experiment with different racquetball gloves and racquetball grip combinations to find the racquetball gear that you prefer the most and that fits your game style.
A cheaper racquetball glove tends to not last as long once they are wet, and they also seem to rip a little easier. Once the racquetball gloves start ripping, you will notice the racquet begin to turn in your hand when you contact the ball, again resulting in loss of control.
If you dive a lot during play, look for racquetball gloves that have extra padding on the pinky and rink finger. Many players dive and leave their fingers around the grip and it sure does hurt unless your racquetball gear has that extra padding.
